For adults with a prostate. This guide suggests when to speak with a doctor; it cannot diagnose cancer or calculate your personal percentage risk.
Please read before using your result
This checker provides general prostate health information based on your answers. It is not a diagnostic test or a validated cancer-risk calculator for the Indian population, and it cannot confirm or rule out prostate cancer.
An apparently reassuring result does not mean you are cancer-free. Do not delay medical assessment for symptoms, an abnormal PSA result or follow-up already advised by your doctor.
Decisions about PSA testing and further investigations should be made with a qualified clinician, considering your medical history, overall health and preferences.
How this guide works · evidence & limitations
This is an educational decision aid adapted for patients in India, not an India-validated prediction model. It does not estimate lifetime risk, diagnose cancer or determine whether a biopsy is needed. Indian nationality is not used as a numerical risk multiplier.
USI 2022 supports individual assessment after 50, considering health and life expectancy. The EAU recommendation table uses 50 generally, 45 for African ancestry or prostate cancer in a relative diagnosed before 60, and 40 for BRCA2 carriers. This checker uses those discussion ages, not a testing mandate. Other family histories and uncertain information need individual review. Family cancer patterns flag a conversation, not automatic genetic testing. Health and expected benefit guide decisions; there is no fixed upper-age cutoff here. Symptoms and previous abnormal tests take priority.
PSA testing may find important cancer earlier, but can also lead to false alarms, further investigations and treatment of cancers that would never cause harm. A low PSA does not exclude cancer. Testing should follow an informed discussion; overall health and expected benefit matter, especially in later life.
